🚨AI in Interior Design🚨

So often you hear people talk about AI taking over people’s jobs and it’s something that really concerns people in creative industries including Interior Design.

Many people think that you can put a room concept into ChatGPT and get the outcome you are looking for without understanding about the practical and functional issues that would come up.

Interior Designers aren’t just picking pretty wallpapers and cushions, they are psychologists who analyse how you use your space, therapists who can juggle multiple opinions or emotions as well as tech savvy entrepreneurs who can use 5+ different softwares at the same time.

These ChatGPT dolls are a prime example of the issues that AI presents. It took me multiple attempts to get these dolls created from the same photos and yet all of them had errors or couldn’t look further from my actual face or body shape. So take time to think before using AI for your home renovations and give a designer a call instead 📞📲

✨ HOW I BECAME AN INTERIOR DESIGNER ✨

I didn’t follow the traditional route that most designers do but I still had a lot of fun learning.

I actually have a degree in French, Spanish & Portuguese and I spent my year abroad living and working in Paris. This year will be 10 WHOLE YEARS since I moved to a new country without knowing anyone or having a permanent place to live and it was one of the best years of my life.

I was lucky enough to secure an internship with an interior designer not far from the Louvre and I spent my days visiting suppliers, working with architects, speaking to clients in the gallery and walking the cutest dog around the city. I passed this mural of Serge Gainsbourg multiple times a day and always loved it.

When I got back to England I finished my degree and found a sales job that allowed me to use my languages but soon realised that it wasn’t fulfilling my desire to be creative. Since then I have worked for a furniture maker and supplier, a large housing developer and another design studio before taking a long break to soak up being a mum to my two babies.

Now I am finally running my own company, showcasing my own designs and helping my wonderful clients to bring the best out of their homes 💖

My four year old is obsessed with fairies and ballerinas at the moment. She has been asking for a “green and pink fairy bedroom” for months and I’ve finally gotten around to planning it.

She gave the design her seal of approval when she got home from school so I’d better get moving and make this woodland wonderland a reality 🍄🍄🍄
